My first days!

Eric, this one is for you by request. I am currently sitting in an internet cafe and will give you a quick recap of the past few days. I moved into my apartment. I'm using a weird japanese keyboard so forgive all the errors...it's insane. ' is shift 7. and the space bar is the size of a key. Very annoying.

Anyway, my apartment looks over rice paddies and mountiains. Very very beautiful. Work is mostly 10 hour days with gaps in between. The first few have been crazy but my coworkers are awesome. I will post pictures of the apartment and the view asap. I'm waiting for the internet to be installed before I upload them.

And yes, on my first day here I went to kyoto but the second day I went to play with the DEER! They are so cool. I plan on going all the time, because its so close. I took a ton of pictures and will also post some of them soon.

Also, all the japanese girls stare at me and call my kayai...(cute) and I have been asked twice if im married. Since Im semi in the burbs im the only gaijin around and people love to look at the white boy.

Anyway, I know this isnt very detailed but Im paying for the internet and will give you more detailed/better info when I dont have to pay. I hope youre all doing well.

First Day of Training Over

I've finally arrived safely in Vancouver and have finished my first day of training! It was 8 hours of information being stuffed into my brain every minute. For this reason I ask that you forgive any grammatical errors or poor sentence structure.

Anyway, I received my visa clearance form today and should have my visa by Thursday. Also, I found out my official title is Specialist in International Humanities...bad. ass.

I also found out that I can move directly into my apartment when I arrive in Japan, which is sweet. I really should type a lot more into this post but the internet cafe isn't free and I think it's time to start drinking. All of the other people trianing with me are pretty cool, I think they did a good job throughout the selection process. I didn't realize how selective it was until today.

Anyway, I already miss all of you back in NYC but at the same time I don't think I've ever been this excited about any challenge before. Until later.
